In order to be recognized as a Dedicated Service Graduate (DSG), a must submit at least 120 total hours of community service by April 1 of their senior year. These hours are accumulated throughout their high school career. Of those 120 hours, at least 40 hours must be for Spring ISD. Seniors who complete these requirements will receive a silver honor cord to wear with their gown at graduation.
The DSG year is from April 2 (last year) until April 1 (this year). Forms are submitted as a complete packet on April 1. The packet is actually a COPY of a summary sheet and all verification forms collected for the past year. Hours earned during the summer are submitted the following school year by April 1. This is a hard deadline. Forms are not accepted late.
