Course Overview:

In this class, which is a High School credit course, students will be immersed in a Spanish program in which students will develop academic language and cultural literacy in Spanish, while applying critical thinking skills as they compare the Spanish language and its culture with their new community. Students will also connect to other academic subjects, such as Math, Science and Social Studies, using their knowledge of Spanish to access new information. Their knowledge and skills in Spanish language will be measured through five groups: Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities.

Expectations from Students

In order to maintain a safe and effective learning environment for all students, I do expect from each student to:

· Understand and follow all classroom rules and procedures

· Understand and follow all RMS policies and rules

· Participate in class everyday

· Respect peers, teachers, and school property

· Be active participants in group/peers class' projects

· Tutoring in VISTA

Make-Up Work Policy

The make-up work policy for a test, quiz, or daily work missed because of an absence will follow the 2022-2023 Student Handbook.

Late Work Policy

In regard to late work, students are encouraged to turn in all work on time. The penalty for turning in work late will be a 11 points deduction after 1 day past due assignment follow extra points deductions based in the number of days to turn the assignment as "late".
