About Me

I grew up in Sturgis, SD, and went to college at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, and Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD.  I graduated from BHSU with a degree in elementary education and Indian studies.  Since graduation I have earned endorsements in middle school education and computer science.  I also obtained a master's degree in literacy with reading specialist and leadership endorsements from the University of Sioux Falls. I am a life-long learner and love to be involved with school and learning.

My husband Jeff and I have three children: Anna, Elise, and Nick. Anna  and her husband, Jake, have six wonderful children: Mac, Victoria, Rayechael, Jocelynn, Jonah, and Gabriel. Being a grandma is great!!! Elise lives in Spearfish. We love to spend time in our backyard playing horseshoes and relaxing by the creek.  My favorite pastimes are spending time with my family, gardening, and getting lost in a great novel. But my favorite thing to do is have fun and enjoy life!
