ACCUPLACER

The College Board Next-Generation ACCUPLACER is an untimed, computerized test that evaluates your skills and places students into appropriate courses. ACCUPLACER offers tests in reading, writing, and math. You will receive your ACCUPLACER results immediately upon completion of testing.

Most community colleges require the ACCUPLACER for admissions to determine placement level for classes. Many colleges administer the ACCUPLACER exam during orientation to incoming freshmen who have already applied and been admitted to the school. Some institutions may require you to take one or more of the ACCUPLACER tests before enrolling in a particular program or course. Talk to your advisor, counselor, or Office of Student Services to determine the requirements and recommendations of your institution.

Some students will need to take the ACCUPLACER to enroll in concurrent classes with Hawkeye Community College at the Western Outreach Center. The GCHS school counselor can proctor the ACCUPLACER exam for students.
