Russian level II

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Russian Level two. Level two is considered intermediate Russian. This year we will continue to improve our ability to read, write, speak and understand Russian. We will focus especially both on speaking and improving our ability to write compositions in Russian.

This year you will learn to talk about:

• traveling and going on trips

• the weather and the seasons

• free time activities

• numbers

• telling time

• Russian culture: Moscow, current events in Russia

• Talking about yourself, including family, school, leisure activities, friends, art, etc.

We will participate in two Russian language competitions this year, the Olympiada of Spoken Russian at Drew University and the National Russian Essay contest. You are eligible to win medals and certificates at both competitions.

Finally, this year you will be eligible for membership in the Russian National Honor society, based on your overall grades, grades in Russian, character and participation in community service.

REQUIRED MATERIALS:

• Chromebook every day

• Notebook (any kind) and folder EXCLUSIVELY for Russian.

• Bring a blue/ black pen or pencil to write daily.

• Textbook when required.
