Course Description
Career Explorations is a hands-on course designed to help students better understand themselves, the world of work, and the many pathways available after high school. Through self-assessments, career investigations, guest speakers, interviews, simulations, service-learning experiences, and project-based activities, students explore how their interests, strengths, values, and skills connect to future opportunities. Students investigate careers found within their families, schools, and communities while learning about the educational, training, military, entrepreneurial, and service pathways that lead to a variety of professions. The course emphasizes employability skills, workplace expectations, community engagement, and informed decision-making. Students conclude the course by developing a personalized Future Pathway Plan that outlines a realistic roadmap toward a career field of interest.Â
