Mrs. Sobota's Class Procedures

1. When entering Mrs. Sobota's classroom for the first 10 minutes - Check the "Pick Up Bin" for any Bell Work (BellRingers) or Handouts. Follow the directions on the board for assignment. If there is not any Bell Work posted, you may read YOUR SELF SELECTED BOOK from My Library. This is usually when I conference with students and/or check HW.

2. Homework is posted each week on google classroom. All assigned homework is given on Monday for the entire week. Overnight homework assignments, (The Doggie Bag Assignments) is classwork not finished in class (leftovers) and needs to be completed for the next day.

Long term projects are expected to be turned in on time. However, for each day it is late points will be marked off the grade. After the fifth day, the assignment will receive a zero and cannot be made up. This policy will be also on the rubric the student will receive.

3. Responsibility Tracking: ZAP Zeros Aren't Positive is a program designed to increase expectation of students who habitually, or occasionally, fail to complete and turn in assignment on time. Students can attend working lunch and have the opportunity to complete the assignment /homework. The work will be returned to the teacher at the end of the period and the student will receive credit based on each teacher's policy, rather than a 0. In Social Studies I will accept the assignment and credit what they have completed. They can receive full credit for a fully completed assignment, half credit for half completion and so on.

4. The teacher will provide missed assignments to those students who are not in class for an excused reason. IT IS THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT THE TEACHER FOR THE MISSED ASSIGNMENT. Upon returning to class they are to check the "Were you out? Look what you missed!" file bin on the counter for any handouts given. The "While You Were Out" notice will be labeled with the students name and period. Directions for completion and other information will be written on this notice. Unless prior arrangements has been made, the student will have only the number of days missed to complete the assignment. After this time as expired, the assignment will not receive credit.

5. All students are expected to have their independent reading book every day, in all of three classes. This does not mean that they are reading in every class, but when time allows, the students should not waste the extra time given to keep up with their reading.

6. All students are expected to show respect for fellow classmates, teachers and any other person present in our classroom and on our South Range Campus.
