Grading
This is a graded course for high school fine arts credit. Grades are calculated in the following manner:
Dictations 20% of the quarter grade - Rhythmic, Melodic, Harmonic, Chorale dictations (I play, you write)
Piano Work 20% of the quarter grade - Scales, Chords, Simple theory exercises, sing/play, maybe more depending on your ability level
Daily Work 30% of the quarter grade - Worksheets, Homework, OpenMusicTheory.com, sight-singing, sight-reading
Tests and Quizzes 30% of the quarter grade - Tests and Quizzes
Composition 10% of the semester grade - an original composition in the style of the "Common Practice Period" demonstrating your understanding of theory concepts.
