Course Overview
Concert Choir is a course where young singers become more tuneful, more rhythmic, more coordinated, more mature, and more creative. In daily rehearsal, term voice lessons, public performances, and weekly classwork, students will build skill as musicians and members of a community.
Grading
This is a graded course for high school fine arts credit. Grades are calculated in the following manner:
35% - Public Performance participation
30% - Daily Participation - Perfect Participation and Weekly Work
35% - Quarterly assignments (listening lessons, music theory, sub work)
Public Performance and Appropriate Attire
Attendance at public performance is required and is an essential element of this course.
For several performances, all students MUST wear all black (shoes, pants, shirt, dress, etc) and for several performances, students will be provided a Choir Robe, but must still wear DRESS SHOES that are black or dark.
NO TENNIS SHOES.
Technology - Music Theory and Ear Training
Several rehearsals will be dedicated to music theory and ear training. These will involve both group work and individual work. This will involve some written work and some work on your laptops. Some sites to bookmark as you start your year in CC:

CELL PHONES MUST BE PLACED IN THE HANGER AT THE BEGINNING OF REHEARSAL.
