IT Usage Policy

Students are to abide by the SOTA Student IT Usage Policy, which is

available in the SOTA Student Portal. The policy includes the following:

a. Students are not to access, bring, download and/or share any indecent and

inappropriate materials, including pornographic materials, digital or

otherwise, in their laptops or any digital storage devices. Use of torrents or any

bandwidth intensive applications are also not allowed.

b. Any attempt to compromise the security of the school’s network, such as

hacking and deliberate spreading of viruses, is prohibited and will be treated

as a major offence.

c. Students are expected to practise responsible and ethical use of the Internet.

They should not engage in activities which are unlawful, malicious or

discriminating in nature, such as cyberbullying, posting of misleading

information, compromise their own privacy and identity or those of others.
