Welcome to the Choral Music Department

The Choral Music Department at Saranac Lake High School is a cornerstone in the diverse selection of academic programs. The Department consists of two major choral ensembles that meet every day, the Festival Chorus and the Concert Choir. Additionally, there is a select Men's Ensemble and a select Women's Ensemble that meet outside of the regular school day. Admission into these Select Vocal Ensembles is through a rigorous audition process at the beginning of each academic year.

Students in the Department also study in small group lessons throughout the week and have the opportunity to participate in regional honors ensembles including, but not limited to, All-County, Area All-State, NYSSMA Solo Festival, NYSSMA Conference All-State, and All-Eastern.

The Department is always looking for new members, and no prior experience is necessary - only a desire to learn more about singing, and a willingness to open yourself to the rich tradition of choral music.
