We do not believe in large homework projects; instead, we would much prefer that you spend time playing sport, learning a musical instrument or attending classes like dance or karate.  But we will send a little homework each week. Here’s how homework will work for Kauri & Totara:

• Homework goes out on a Friday and is due in on a Friday.  

• You should do homework 5 nights per week.

• Homework consists of:

  • 20mins of reading per night & completion of the reading log (in blue) in your faith dairy.

  • Practice your spelling words ready for testing on a Friday.

  • Practice their basic facts for your Kung Fu Belt.

  • Any work that hasn’t been finished during the week; this is due back on Monday.

It is important you bring your faith diary to school every day.  

All the school’s Spelling Lists are on our class site. If you are finding your spelling too easy or too difficult, please feel free to choose  a different list.   Words in the Lists from E upwards have more of a vocabulary focus.  Students are to learn both how to spell them and also what they mean.  You are to write these words in sentences in order to go onto the next list.
