Grade Level: 9-12

Metals Tech will focus on Metal as a material and its use. We will be doing casting, sheet metal work, forming metal and welding.

• Oxyacetylene Welding

• Arc Welding

• Spot Welding

• MIG welding

• TIG Welding

• Casting

Supplies Needed

• Folder for class materials

• Notebook

• Pencils

• Money for Project Materials

Students will be expected to bring their folder, notebook, pencil every day. Notes will be taken and graded and assignments given and graded.

Grading Scale 

A 94-100 C 73-76 

A- 90-93 C- 70-72 

B+ 87-89 D+ 67-69 

B 83-86 D 63-66 

B- 80-82 D- 60-62 

C+ 77-79 F 59 and Below

Classroom Rules (All classes and Labs)

• All students will respect each other, the instructor and the equipment.

• All safety rules will be followed. If they are not we will not work in the shop. 

• No student can leave class without permission.

• No work will take place in the shop without Mr. Butt or another SHOP CERTIFIED teacher in attendance. Substitutes without shop certification cannot let students work in the shop.
