Curriculum

In sixth grade we begin with an Introduction to Social Studies unit. This unit helps students answer the question, "What is Social Studies?" They will also be introduced to primary and secondary sources and they will review geography skills that will be used throughout the year. Then we explore the Paleolithic and Neolithic Ages and the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece, and Rome.

For each civilization, we will explore their geography, religion, achievements, politics, economics and social structure.
