Graduation Requirements

STUDENT CLASSIFICATION

In order to be classified for the various grade levels in high school, students must have earned the following minimum number of academic credits.

FRESHMAN = 0 CREDITSJUNIORS = 12 CREDITS

SOPHOMORE = 6 CREDITSSENIORS = 18 CREDITS

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Twenty-four (24) credits are required for graduation from Shawnee High School. The following credits must be earned in order to be eligible for graduation:

English4 credits Science 3 credits

Econ ½ credit Math 3 credits

Dr.Ed ½ credit Health ½ credit

P.E.4 credits Fine/Voc. Arts 1 credit

History 1 credit Keyboarding/Comp. Conc. 1 credit

Government 1 credit

Class of 2016: You must be in an English, Science, Math, Keyboarding/Computers & PE/Band (or Dr. Ed/Health) class. You can pick up to two electives.

Class of 2015: You must be in a Science, English, Math, & PE/Band (or Dr. Ed/Health) class. You can pick up to three electives.

Class of 2014: You must be in an English, Math, Science, US History, PSAE Prep, & PE/Band class. You can take Consumer Econ if available. You can pick one elective.

Class of 2013: You must be in English, Gov/Econ PE/Band. It is strongly suggested you take a math your senior year. You can pick up to 4 electives.

*Also, you need to book an appointment to ensure that you have all of the classes you require to graduate!
