PAYING FOR COLLEGE
To complete the FAFSA on the web
The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. FAFSA opens the door to the federal aid process. Usually the FAFSA is submitted in February because you will need financial information from the previous year. Tax records as well as other financial information is needed. The website will have information about what is needed.
FAFSA information for completion
Using this site will allow you to get a Personal Identification Number (PIN). Your PIN serves as your electronic signature and provides access to your personal records, you should never give your PIN to anyone. Be sure your PIN is in a safe place; you will be able to use the same PIN in the future to apply electronically for student aid and access your U.S. Department of Education records
Very cool website provided by FAFSA- provides you with an early estimate of student aid eligibility & will increase your knowledge of the financial aid process and provide information about other sources of aid.
ATHLETES
Prospective student-athletes can register with the NCAA Clearinghouse online (the preferred method). You can also view the NCAA Division I and Division II initial-eligibility requirements. Students should register at the end of their junior year.
The National Junior College Athletic Association provides opportunities for student-athletes to continue their athletic careers. The NJCAA is divided into three divisions just like the NCAA. THe schools who are members of this organization are two year comunity and junior colleges. After completing their eligibility, a student-athlete may choose to continue their academic and athletic career at a NCAA or NAIA school.
