Is there a textbook?
No. The curriculum (Illustrative Mathematics) is open-source and all resources are available online.
*A large portion of each lesson is based on hands-on activities, partner work, and class discussions.
Do I need a calculator?
It is helpful to have your own - we use a TI-30XIIS in class.
Walmart, Target, and Amazon are common places to find this calculator.
I do have a classroom set of calculators for students to use when in my classroom.
There is a calculator on the Chromebook that can be used at home or in study halls, as well as an excellent online calculator: Desmos Calculator that can be used on any device that has internet access.
