Notes about this class:

In Reading Concepts, we will be reading a variety of texts ranging from a variety of genres.  While reading these texts we will examine and strengthen our reading skills and strategies.  We will be doing whole group work as well as small group work.  The small groups will allow me to focus on students’ specific needs such as decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. 

Students need to have a pencil, pen, highlighter, folder/binder, independent reading book, and their Chromebooks for class every day.  The students don’t need a binder just for this particular class.  If they are using binders in other classes, they can just use dividers and use one section for Reading class.  It is important they bring their independent reading book to class every day because we will be starting each class with independent reading.
