Course Description: This course continues the study of World History, Geography, and Cultures begun in 6th grade. Emphasis is placed on developing governments through the study of Western Civilization and its interactions with the rest of the world following the end of the Middle Ages. Second semester will turn the focus to the development of the United States and its Constitution. Throughout the chronology students will continue to hone their social studies skills.
Course Objectives: Students will express an understanding of events of and influences on issues in world history from the European Renaissance through the formative years of the United States. Students will demonstrate growth in the skills associated with the study of civics, geography, and history. Students will prove knowledge of the US Constitution and assess its application to various issues. Students will be able to formulate a chronological expression of events in world history.

They have access to the ONLINE TEXTBOOK from any computer - the user name is their school email address and the password is their school password.
