Middle School Assignment Expectations
“Homework” means anything that is to be completed outside of the classroom. This can include notecards, notes, projects, reports, etc. This procedure is in effect for the 2021-2022 school year.
ONE ZERO CAN BE DEVASTATING TO A GRADE. Late or missing work also impedes the teacher from grading a returning work to the rest of the class. We all want students to have homework the day it is due.
The procedure is as follows:
All homework assignments are due at the beginning of class.
Next class: 90%
Two classes late: 50%
One Week: Zero
10% each day for large projects - teachers will make students aware which projects this applies to.
Please note that teachers use symbols and comments to mark if an assignment is late or missing and whether or not it is still eligible for credit.
The absent student policy will remain as currently constituted: A student will have as many days as they were absent to turn in assignments without being penalized. Students will have to schedule a time with their teacher to take a missed test during this time as well. Any time after this, the new homework procedure will take effect for late assignments.
We thank you for your constant support and contribution to your child's education,
