Resources

There are many resources available for Chemistry.

Below are listed some important resources to help students get the most out of Chemistry.

Sample Lab Report Template**

Title(you can create the title if the teacher doesn’t give you one.)

Abstract: Summarize in 1-2 sentences the purpose of the experiment, the general outline of the procedure and what results you expected and actually gathered.

Question: State the problem or question you are trying to answer.

Hypothesis : State your hypothesis

Include and identify your independent and dependent variables. List what factors or potential variables will be held constant.

Materials: List all materials used. Include the amount of each reagent and size of equipment.

You can copy this from the lab.

Procedure: List each step – you can copy this from the lab. Note any changes you made to the listed procedure.

Results (table and graph): Create a data table with each trial and make a graph if appropriate – check with your teacher.

Conclusions: Note if the data from the lab accepts or rejects your hypothesis, explain results, what can be done differently, and any real world applications.

** here is a link to a very good example of a Lab Report

(Note how you can read this report and picture and understand what was happening without even being there. The conclusion was clear as well.

THAT is a good report.)
