Our Designated ELD classes offer intensive English language development to students who are learning English, and ensure that students meet the CA ELD standards.
MLLs take content area classes in English.
Structured English Immersion (SEI) Courses are college prep courses with additional support for English Language Development built-in, such as in Biology, Math or History. SEI classes are for MLL Newcomer students. SEI courses are college prep courses with additional support for English Language Development built-in.
TPHS MLLs have support in their content area classes through their teachers, who use language development strategies, MLL Instructional Assistants and MLL tutoring.
