Who is Ms. Charnow?

This is my 19th year teaching and my 14th year at La Costa Canyon HS. I grew up in Encinitas and went to Diegueno Junior High and San Dieguito Academy.

After high school, I wanted to see snow so traveled east to the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. I graduated with a Bachelors in Economics. After college I moved to New York City where I became a math teacher and earned my Masters in Mathematics Education at Pace University. I taught for four years in the South Bronx until I got fed up with the weather back east and moved home.

I taught one year in Downtown San Diego until I finally landed back in the district I grew up in. I have a partner (Sam) who I met in college,  Sam taught eighth grade science for 10 years and now is teaching 5th grade. We have two children Thyme and Wylie. Thyme is an 8th grader and Wylie is a 5th grader.
