Author and illustrator Aimee Sicuro will be visiting with all Kindergarten classes in November 2024. Aimee is the illustrator of many beautiful picture books and she recently released her first book that she both wrote and illustrated, If You Find a Leaf. Author Meghan McCarthy will be coming to visit with 1st and 2nd grade students at Quaker Ridge on April 23rd. Meghan McCarthy is the award-winning author and illustrator of sixteen picture books and counting, most of which are nonfiction. Meghan makes sure that her books are not only accurate and informative but also humorous and fun. Learning doesn’t have to be boring!

Veera Hiranandani will be visiting with 3rd-5th grades on May 19th. Veera is the award-winning author of several books for young people. Her most recent middle-grade novel, Amil and The After, is a follow-up to her previous Newbery Honor-winning,The Night Diary. The Night Diary also received the 2019 Walter Dean Myers Honor Award, the 2018 Malka Penn Award for Human Rights in Children's Literature, and several other honors and state reading list awards. Her middle-grade historical novel, How to Find What You're Not Looking For, received the 2022 Sydney Taylor Book Award, the 2022 Jane Addams Book Award, and the New-York Historical Society Children's Book Prize among other accolades.
