Who is on my bus?

You will be on the bus along with your roommates. There are teacher and parent chaperones on each bus as well as a tour guide. Two of the buses will also have a nurse.

It is such a long ride! What can we do on the bus?

We do watch movies as a group (PG-13 or lower). You can enjoy time with your friends, nap, listen to music...

Do I get to pick my chaperone?

No, but you are given the opportunity to choose your roommates. Mr. Richard and Mr. West assign the chaperones; each chaperone is responsible for two or three rooms of students.

What time do we leave? What time should I arrive at school?

The buses will pull out promptly at 6am on Tuesday. You should be here by 5:30 for a quick goodbye to your parents before boarding the bus. Once you are on the bus, you should stay there!

When do we return?

Friday (4/12) night between 8pm and 9 pm. Mr. West will send out a PowerSchool Announcement when we are about 2 hours away from HBMS.

What do I need for money?

You will need money for lunch on the way down Monday afternoon but once we get to DC, all meals are included.

You can take a little money for souvenirs but there is not a whole lot of time for shopping.

How many kids are in each room?

No more than four. This is due to fire code in the DC area.

What time is "light's out?"

Light's out is usually 30 minutes after we get back to the hotel at night. Each day starts early, ends late and is very busy in between. You are going to need your sleep!

Can I bring my electronics?

Yes. Handheld electronics are fine but anything you bring is your responsibility. Anything that would be attached to the hotel TV--like a gaming system--is not allowed.

What else should I bring?

Although there is a more complete list on the Packing List page, some definites are:

*comfortable shoes (we walk A LOT!)

*a water bottle that you can refill along the way

*sunscreen (we are outside A LOT and we are hoping for bright, sunny days)

*a light jacket in case it rains
