Homework and Classwork– 10% of grade AND is necessary for retakes
~ You will see H.W. noted online, but it does not count towards final grade
~ H.W. and Classwork will always help a student practice the language ~PRACTICE MAKES PROGRESS
~H.W. and Classwork completion are used in order to determine if a student is eligible for retakes
~If a student is not putting forth 100% effort towards H.W. and Classwork, a retake will be denied
~All necessary H.W. and Classwork are due BEFORE an assessment (Quiz, Test)
*For example, a student cannot have incomplete H.W. on a subject matter, realize that the quiz was harder than they anticipated, rush to complete the H.W. and turn it in after the quiz, just to retake a quiz
~ H.W. and Classwork completion may help determine a student's level when they are placed in Pinkerton language classes
A student's grade is based on how well they can demonstrate competency in the following areas:
1. Interpretive - Student can understand, interpret, and analyze what is heard, read, or viewed on a variety of topics (30% of grade)
2. Presentational - Student can present concepts, information and ideas to inform, persuade and narrate on a variety of topics (30% of grade)
3. Language Control – Students can write in the target language while using correct usage of grammar and vocabulary (30% of grade)
