Toddler Tunes 1 & 2 (ages 18 mo. to 3 years old)
30 minutes weekly
Toddler Tunes was developed specifically for the 1 1/2 - 3 year old student. Classes are completely experiential and focused on providing students and families with a joyful music making program. You and your toddler will experience rhythms, finger plays, active movement games, instrument playing, use of manipulatives, keyboard exploration and lots of singing. Toddler classes can be entered at any time through out the year and run on 6 week sessions.
Music in Me & More Music In Me (ages 3 - 5)
2 - 16 week programs, 45 minutes weekly
The Music In Me & More Music In Me courses were developed for preschoolers, age 3-5. Students experience music physically and develop musical understanding, pitch & rhythm awareness through singing, rhythm instruments, movement, ear training and xylophone and keyboard activities. They are introduced to music reading and writing and learn to track notes on the piano but are not taught to play complete songs at this age. Parents or caregivers participate in class time and are guided in follow -up home activities. Creativity is encouraged in a positive environment created for young children. Classes begin in Sept. and Feb. only.
Hello Music (ages 3 - 4 1/2) Summer Camp only
4 - 40 min. sessions
Hello Music offers an introduction to Music In Me with solfege singing, movement, rhythm, keyboard playing, and creative activities. This program gives the child a strong readiness for continued musical involvement. Parents share in class time.
Musictime (ages 4 1/2 - 6) Summer Camp only
4 - 40 min. sessions
Musictime offers an introduction to Harmony Road with solfege singing, movement, rhythm, keyboard playing, and creative activities. This program gives the child a strong readiness for continued musical involvement. Parents share in class time.
Harmony Road (ages 4 1/2 - 6)
A School year program, 55 minutes weekly
The Harmony Road course is carefully constructed for children to learn the basic building blocks of music. Emphasis is on ear training, solfege singing, keyboard playing, ensemble and rhythm instruments/activities, movement and music creativity. They gain experience in solo and ensemble keyboard playing and develop an understanding of harmony and applied theory. This exceptional course gives the student "inner hearing", which makes transposing, improvisation and composing easily accessible in their musical studies. Parent involvement in class time and at home practice is required. There is a piano recital in June of each year.
Young Musician Intro (ages 6 - 8) Summer Camp only
4 - 40 min. sessions
Students learn beginning music concepts through singing, ear training, note reading, keyboard solo and ensemble playing, rhythm ensemble and creative activities. This course provides a strong basis for further musical study in Young Musician. Parents share in class time activities and at home practice.
Young Musician (ages 6 -8)
A School year program 55 minutes weekly
The Young Musician course introduces beginning students to keyboard performance and note reading in a holistic program, including the organized development of pitch, rhythm, solfege singing, keyboard and movement activities. Parent involvement in class and at home.
Junior Music Camp (Ages 5- 8) Summer Camp only
Junior Music Camp provides an activity oriented musical experience for 5-8 year olds. No prior music training required. Camps meet two and 1/2 hours daily for one week. Each day a different theme is explored through music and craft activities. A short video is watched with a snack served. Focus themes include: Teddy Bears, Dinosaurs, Carnival of The Animals, Peter and the Wolf, and The Nutcracker. No parent required to attend this class.
Private Piano Lessons (all ages) Year Round
Private piano lessons are offered year round to all ages students for 30 minutes once a week. 5 Octave Keyboard or Piano required at home for daily practice. Using a variety of series including: Premier Piano, Alfred, Piano Adventures, Bastien, Faber & Faber, etc. One formal recital at end of school year provided for all students studying piano. Parent required to stay in building during lessons.
