This year, you will notice that your child can receive one of three grades: M, E, or N for each of the Intended Learner Outcomes (ILOs), which are specific to the content covered in the subject of study.

Art:
In Art, there are four Intended Learner Outcomes (ILO): Visual Communication and Production; Art History and Cultural Context, Analysis, Evaluation and Critique and Aesthetics.
Visual Communication and Production: The student is consistently demonstrating exemplary expression of meaning and values in two-dimensional and three-dimensional art forms and shows respect for their own work and the work of others. The student demonstrates safe and ethical practices when using art materials, tools, techniques, and processes.
Art History and Cultural Context: The student understands the role of visual arts in communicating diverse cultural beliefs and ideas.
Analysis, Evaluation, and Critique: The student understands visual art concepts and processes. The student consistently uses appropriate art vocabulary and a variety of strategies while analyzing and interpreting meanings in works of art. The student employs critical evaluation skills in art creation and exhibition.
Aesthetics: The student consistently recognizes the difference between personal opinion and informed judgment when reflecting on, discussing, and responding to visual imagery.
