Week of November 1st

REMINDER: Dismissal Friday is at 11:00. Please send a note in if your child is attending aftercare. We will be dismissing from the main church. I will be at the double doors downstairs with Pre-K3. Thank you!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween. This will be my last week as their teacher. It has been so nice getting to know all of your children. They will always hold a special place in my heart. <3

I will be here Monday and Tuesday with Mrs. Mercurio to help with the transition. Children are resilient. I know they will have a great year with Mrs. Mercurio. :)

We started learning about the letter G, the number 6, the color brown and the rectangle shape.

Please feel free to send in a show and share for any of these things.

It is going to be a warm week. Please be sure they have their St. Margaret's shirt on under their sweatshirt in case it gets too warm for them.

We started talking about Thanksgiving and will be doing a project on being thankful.

Week of October 28th

The letter of the week is F. We have been talking about words that start with the F sound. Our number of the week is 5, the shape is a heart and the color is blue. Please feel free to send in a show and share item if you like by Thursday every week.

We are looking forward to all of the Halloween activities this week. If your child comes three days, they are welcome to join in the Halloween parade on Friday. Please send them here at 12:30 in costume. They are welcome to stay until 2:30 if you send a note in.

Halloween activities

On Thursday, October 27th we will be pumpkin picking outside. The children will come inside after getting their pumpkins to decorate them. They are welcome to wear Halloween colors. Please have them wear sneakers as we will be going outside to get the pumpkins.

On Friday, October 28th there will be a parade here for the children. The parade begins at 1:00.

In the morning they may wear something with Halloween colors for dress down.

The parade begins at 1:00. Only the class mothers will be allowed in to help us get the children ready for the parade. Parents are welcome to come and watch the parade outside. The class mothers will provide a special treat. Please reach out to them if your child has allergies and check what the snack will be. You may send a special snack for your child if you prefer.

Please have your children bring their costume in a clearly labeled bag with his/her name on it. (No fancy shoes or masks that cover their faces.) Please wear sneakers as we will be walking in our parade outside.

Please send a note in the day before or that morning if you wish to take your child home after the parade.

We will be watching an age-appropriate Halloween movie for the afternoon.

HSA Halloween activities are at 5:00. Happy Halloween!

"A child's life is like a piece of paper on which every person leaves a mark."

This week we were working on the letter D, the color red, the number 3 and the square shape.

We went on a leaf walk and found so many beautiful leaves. We have been reading books on leaves. They are fascinated with the different colors and shapes.

They loved painting pumpkins and ghosts! We have been reading about ghosts and pumpkins in school too.

Please bring in a show and share every Thursday so all of the children can enjoy. It can be on the letter, number, color or shape each week.

We are so happy that Mrs. Z has joined us. The children love her already. Thank you all for your kind words and notes as Mrs. List and I were getting the children settled in the first few weeks. I cannot believe how far they have come. I am so proud of them!

9/26/22

Proverbs 22:6 “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

We have had a great two weeks together. The children are settling in and getting used to our daily schedules.

Reminder: Monday, September 26th is picture day. The students may wear their gym uniforms. Tuesday, September 27th is individual picture day. They may dress up or wear their gym uniform.

Please remember to label everything! Please send the snacks in separately labeled for your children.

Wednesdays we have Spanish.

Thursdays we have Gym and Art.

Last week we learned the letter A. The children were very excited learning all of the words with the letter A.

We read The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. The children loved it. We did some follow up activities and talked about how much they are loved at home and in school.

This week we will focus on the Letter B.

The children are welcome to bring in a Show and Share item by Thursday with the letter B sound.

Friday is ice cream day. Ice cream is $.50-$1.00. Please send in an envelope or bag with their name clearly written on it.

Last week we brainstormed words with the letter B. The children did a great job sounding out the words and finding things around the room that started with B. We talked about the shapes. Last week we focused on the circle and the number 1.

This week we started the letter C and the number 2. The children are welcome to bring in a show and share item that begins with the letter C this week. Please send in by Thursday if you would like to share. We have been learning our shapes. We focused on a circle the first week, a square the second week and this week is a triangle!

We are still working on our listening and following directions. The children have come such a long way since we started. I am very proud of them.

This week we are working on the letter E, the color purple, the number 4 and the star shape.

We are practicing our sign of the cross and our Grace before meals. The children pray each day before snack. It is so sweet to see. :)
