Grading Policy:
All students in grades 4-8 receive a grade for Physical Education. The scale for specials grades is 1-4.
In order to receive a 4 (EXCEPTIONAL), you need to do the following:
-Follows ALL instructions and rules
-Uses positive talk with teammates AND opponents and always accepts outcome of the game
-Congratulates ALL members of the class AND finds specific positive feedback to give
-Sustains a high level of participation throughout entire class period and during all activities
-Is on task and stops/starts activities at the appropriate time
-Always includes others
-Always in proper gym uniform
A grade of 3 (SATISFACTORY) has the following expectations:
-Follows directions and rules with 1-2 reminders per class
- Uses positive talk with team members and accepts outcomes of games/activities
-Acknowledge's opponent ("good game")
-Active and engaged during most classes with some reminders
-Is usually on task
-Usually includes others
-Almost always in proper gym uniform
A grade of 2 (NEEDS IMPROVEMENT) has the following expectations:
-Sporadically follows rules and directions- needs multiple (3+) reminders per class
-Sometimes supports team members but rarely accepts outcome of the game
-Frequently argues with opponents and sometimes with the teacher
-Active and engaged during class period only half the time
-Sometimes on task
-Includes others only when asked
-Sometimes in proper gym uniform
A grade of 1 (UNSATISFACTORY) has the following expectations:
-Rarely follows rules and directions, even when reminded
-Frequently argues with team members, opponents and teacher
-Does not accept outcome of the game
-Rarely active and engaged during class, even when reminded
-Rarely on task
-Doesn't include others, even when asked
-Rarely in proper gym uniform
