Over the coming days I'm carrying out a complete overhaul of this website

Restoring sash windows so they work properly again — without unnecessary replacement.
I’m Jim, a sash window specialist based in Eastbourne.
Most of the windows I’m called to look at aren’t beyond repair
they’ve simply been left too long and need careful, practical attention.
Over time, sash windows develop familiar problems:
Sticking or painted shut sashes
Broken or stretched cords
Loose, rattling frames
Windows that won’t stay open
General wear that makes them difficult to use
None of these means the windows have failed.
Sash windows were designed to be repaired.
A typical repair involves:
Freeing the sashes properly (without damage)
Rebalancing the weights and cords
Adjusting the frame so everything runs smoothly
Addressing small issues before they become bigger ones
The aim is simple — to bring the window back into proper working order.
Real work, real windows
These are not replacements — they are original windows, working as they should again.
I carry out sash window repair across Hastings and nearby areas.
If you’re unsure whether your windows can be repaired,
I’m always happy to give a straightforward view — no pressure, just clarity.
If your sash windows are:
Difficult to open
No longer staying up
Rattling or loose
It’s usually worth repairing them properly.
