To create a positive and productive learning environment, our classroom follows these important rules:
Follow Directions: Listen carefully and follow instructions the first time they are given.
Listen Respectfully: Pay attention when others are speaking and avoid interrupting.
Raise Your Hand: Wait to be called on before speaking or leaving your seat.
Work Quietly: Stay focused and work independently without distracting others.
Show Respect: Be kind and respectful to your classmates, teachers, and yourself.
Stay Safe: Make choices that help keep everyone safe and comfortable.
By following these expectations, we can build a classroom community where everyone feels respected, supported, and ready to learn and grow!
To help students practice positive behavior in a fun and meaningful way, we use a classroom economy system with nickels!
How It Works:
Each student begins the day with 2 nickels.
Throughout the day, students can earn or lose nickels based on their behavior.
Positive Behavior Rewards:
Class Bank Visits: Every two weeks, students can visit our class bank to trade in their nickels for fun prizes!
This system encourages responsibility, reinforces positive choices, and makes learning even more exciting.
Negative Behavior Consequences:
Loss of Nickels: If a student loses both nickels in a day due to poor choices, they will miss recess and receive a “Sour Note” to take home.
This note must be signed by a parent or guardian and returned the next day, helping to keep families informed and involved.
By using this system, we foster a supportive and encouraging environment where students are motivated to make thoughtful decisions and understand the impact of their actions.
