Spruce Mtn. High School Graduation ceremonies will be held Sunday, June 13th at 1:00 p.m. It will be held on the football field in Livermore fAlls and will be an outdoor graduation either in chairs or drive-in style in vehicles. One car per graduate. Scholarships will be awarded during Graduation.
Applications for ALL local scholarships are on-line on the RSU73.com website under Spruce Mtn. High School and the Guidance link. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 16th. Our scholarship committee will be selecting for local scholarships. Additional scholarships can also be found on this website. Some scholarships require letters of recommendation or a copy of your transcript; these can be requested in the guidance office with a one-week notice.
It is with great pride that the Athletic Administrators and Principals of the Mountain Valley Conference honor the top ten senior scholars from each of the MVC schools with an award ceremony on May 13th at 6pm at Spruce Mtn. High School. This banquet is intended for students and parents only. Snacks will be served. Scholarships will be awarded to students from the MVC schools. Invitations will be mailed to parents and students.
This Banquet will honor the SMHS seniors with a 90% GPA or higher for their high school career. These students will graduate Cum Laude. The banquet will be held in the SMHS Gymnasium. Invitations with more information will be mailed home to students and their parents.
The senior class, through fundraising, will pay for the entire cost of the senior caps and gowns for all seniors. They will be handed out after marching practice

ALL graduating seniors MUST attend marching practice on Saturday, June 5. Seniors will meet on the football field at 4:30 PM for practice and how you will like up to receive diplomas. After practice, there will be a class barbeque. (The rain date is Monday, June 7th).

Let’s remember that graduation is a time to recognize all students who have completed the requirements to earn a Spruce Mountain High School diploma.
It is not the time to draw attention to individuals. Please help us ensure that each student receives the honor he or she deserves by not wearing outlandish footwear. If you wish to decorate your cap, you must get prior approval of the Principal. It is suggested that girls wear dresses or dress pants and boys wear pants and collared shirts. No sneakers please. Graduates please leave cell phones at home or turn them off during the ceremony. Thanks for your cooperation.
During my second year of college our professor gave us a quiz. I breezed through the questions until I read the last one: “What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?” Surely this was a joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Before the class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our grade. “Absolutely,” the professor said. “In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say hello.” I’ve never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her name was Dorothy.
It is important that students return all school equipment, books, laptops, athletic uniforms and materials and pay all outstanding bills in the cafeteria by the first day of marching practice (TBD). Remember that students are responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed items that were issued to them. Students who still have outstanding obligations will be allowed to march at graduation, but will not receive a diploma until they meet those obligations.
