Guest Speakers: We are looking forward to another visit from the Cromwell Center for Disability Awareness this fall. They help us remember that everyone has different abilities and than everyone deserves dignity and respect.
Last year grades 2-4 enjoyed a class activity on friendship from the Outreach Educator at New Hope for Women. She did an amazing job. I am working to schedule her again and expand to grades K-4. Stay tuned!
On December 20th, everyone will enjoy the NED's Mindset Mission Assembly on resiliency! This is sure to be FUN and engaging. I hope you all hear about the Yet Yeti, Go Brain vs. Freeze Brain, and about Never giving up, Encouraging others, and Doing your best!
4th Grade Learn to Ski/Snowboard is BACK! (We hope ... think snow ... stay tuned.)
5th Graders are going to visit Colby College AND the Waldo County Technical Center as part of our career exploration programing. Interested in chaperoning?
5th grade will enjoy a visit from Jonathan Smith, Community Health Outreach Educator at Waldo County General Hospital. He will be presenting information about the health risks of nicotine and tobacco products.
Lastly, we are once again excited to invite the Outreach Educators from SASSMM (Sexual Assault Support Services of Midcoast Maine) to come and help us work on personal space, boundaries, and learning about consent. Their presentations have always been very appropriate, relevant, and engaging.
Watch for more information about these guest speakers and their programs. Dates for their presentations will be announced when they are determined.
