In partnership with RSU5, Freeport Community Services is reaching out to families who wish to receive free Backpack Program snack bags for their children. Parents/guardians/students can pick them up each week at Freeport Community Services. Free snack bags can be collected at the Food Pantry loading dock (55 Depot St., Freeport) every Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This supplemental food program is open to all households with children in Durham, Freeport and Pownal regardless of income. If parents are unable to pick up the bags on Thursdays, Freeport Community Services can arrange an alternate pick-up time. Please contact Kara LaRochelle, Director of Programs at klarochelle@fcsmaine.org or 207-865-3985 x205.
To report a student absence, tardy, or early dismissal, please email FHSAttendance@RSU5.org or call 207-865-4706, ext. 100. Include the student's first and last name, the date of absence/tardy/dismissal, the reason, and your contact information.
Please note that a doctor's note or similar documentation is now required for all tardiness and dismissals. Until a note is provided, the absence will be marked as unexcused.
If a student plans to be absent (e.g., family vacation, college visit), an extended absence form must be completed and submitted one week prior to the start of the absence. Copies of this form are available in the Main Office. Please bring the completed form to Mrs. Meier in the Main Office.
Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:40 to 3:40!
You can work on any class or assignment in the Homework Center for as long as you need—whether it’s just 15 minutes or the full hour! Ms. Johnson and Ms. Cartmell are here to help. If you need transportation assistance, please see me or Mr. Mellon. Just a reminder: the school day ends at 2:30, but the Success Block from 2:20-2:40 is a great time to get quick support or finish up work. Buses leave at 2:35, and teachers are available until 2:40 if you have your own ride. Take advantage of these resources for a successful semester!
Fitness Center
Open: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and some Wednesdays
2:40p - 4:00p
Any students and staff are welcome to come regardless of fitness level or training. Hope to see you there! If you have questions, please feel free to see Ms Draper.
