The MSK outing club is open to all 7th and 8th graders. If you are interested in joining, please come to the first outing club meeting to learn about our upcoming outings this fall!
Note: some dates have moved from Tuesdays to Thursdays*
Tuesday 9/16: First Outing: Room 711 @ MSK. Learn about the outing club, help plan our trips this fall, and take a hike out in the MSK Research Forest.
Pickup @ 3:45 or take late bus.
Tuesday 9/23: Hike The Smith Preserve:. The bus will take us to the Smith Preserve after school. We will be hiking the brook trail and fox den trail!
Pickup @ 4:15 at Smith Preserve parking lot on Guinea Rd.
Tuesday 9/30: Gooch's Beach Cleanup. We will explore the biodiverse ecosystem of Gooch's Beach. We will also do our part and do a beach cleanup while we explore. (no swimming, but you can get your feet wet)

Tuesday 10/7: No Outing Club (7th Grade @ Camp Kieve)
Thursday 10/16: MSK Research Forest Trail & Low Ropes Challenge Course @ MSK.

October 21-23: Comet Hunt! We will choose the most clear night this week and bring our powerful telescope out to gooch's beach to spot the comet "Lemmon", which will be at its peak this week! We will also search the skies for other deep space objects. Date TBD depending on skies.
Drop Off at Oaks Neck/ Narraganset Point at Gooch's Beach @ 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM. Parents/ Guardians are welcome to join!
November 4: Low Low Tide @ Goose Rocks Beach. On rare occasions in the lunar cycle, the Low tide gets EXTRA low, exposing a portion of the low tide zone that is almost always under water. This habitat is rich in marine life and accessable during this brief window. We will explore, harvest surf clams to eat, and search for sand dollars!

The MSK Outing Club is all about getting together to have fun adventuring the outdoors while sharing our passions.
