Meet Mrs. Tenbush

Welcome! I am Mrs. Tenbush, 3rd grade teacher at Blackland Prairie Elementary. Here are some fun facts about me to help you get to know me better.

I grew up in Amarillo, Texas, and lived there my entire childhood. My third grade teacher, Ms. Smith, was my favorite teacher of all time, and she is the reason I decided to become a teacher too!‍ I attended Harding University, and after college, I moved to Round Rock and started teaching. This is my 23rd year teaching! I've taught several years of kindergarten and 2nd grade, and this will be my seventh year in 3rd grade. My favorite color is yellow, and I love monkeys 🐵, reading 📚, kayaking🛶 , fishing, 🎣, baking 🍪, watching my boys play football 🏈, and the Houston Astros ⚾! :) I am passionate about teaching because I love watching my students learn and change and become better leaders throughout the year.

I married my husband, Matt, in 2004.  We have two boys. Jack is 16 and is in 11th grade this year at Cedar Ridge, and Charlie is 13 and in 8th grade at Ridgeview. If you're on Team Tenbush, you will hear lots of stories about them and my big crazy white dog Scout.

I am so thankful to be a part of your child's educational journey. Third grade is a really fun year, and this will be a memorable one for sure! :)
