Who am I? / ¿Quién soy?
I am Susan Dalton, the art teacher at wonderful Wells Branch Elementary Arts Integration Academy in Round Rock ISD. I have been teaching art for 16 years and am excited to continue discovering more about art with you in the classroom. We will draw, paint, collage, sculpt, and build while learning about a variety of art styles and artists throughout history. Get ready to show your creativity as we set off on our journey to be creative art explorers!

Soy Susan Dalton, la maestra de arte en la maravillosa Academia de Integración de Artes de la Primaria Wells Branch en Round Rock ISD. I don't believe in "I can't."
Try. You only truly fail if you never try. As long as you are trying, you are learning, improving, growing and finding ways to do better. Mistakes help you know there are better ways to do something. Don't say “I can't,” instead say "I can try to do my best!" or "I can't do it, YET!"
Keep trying, and you can!

No creo en el "no puedo".
Intentar. Solo fallas de verdad si nunca lo intentas. Mientras lo intenta, está aprendiendo, mejorando, creciendo y encontrando formas de hacerlo mejor. Los errores te ayudan a saber que hay mejores maneras de hacer algo. No digas "No puedo", sino "¡Puedo tratar de hacer lo mejor que pueda!" o "¡No puedo hacerlo, AÚN!"
¡Sigue intentándolo y podrás!
About me - Acerca de mí :
As a child, I lived in Kansas where the winters are much colder than Texas and the summers are just as hot, but shorter. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design/Illustration from the University of Kansas in 1993. After moving to Texas with my husband in 1998, I worked for the Austin Public Library where my love of books, working with children and art were renewed. I received my certification to teach art at Texas State University, and now I'm in my 16th year of having the pleasure of helping my students learn and grow as they creatively explore the wonderful world of art!

Cuando era niño, viví en Kansas, donde los inviernos son mucho más fríos que en Texas y los veranos son igual de calurosos, pero más cortos. Recibí una licenciatura en Bellas Artes en Diseño/Ilustración de la Universidad de Kansas en 1993. Después de mudarme a Texas con mi esposo en 1998, trabajé para la Biblioteca Pública de Austin, donde se renovó mi amor por los libros, trabajar con niños y el arte. . Recibí mi certificación para enseñar arte en la Universidad Estatal de Texas, y ahora estoy en mi decimosexto año de tener el placer de ayudar a mis estudiantes a aprender y crecer mientras exploran creativamente el maravilloso mundo del arte.
Passions/Hobbies - Pasiones/Aficiones
Art – Painting and drawing. The medium I use the most is watercolor with pen and ink and/or colored pencil, but I love to try other media too. Experimenting with art can be fun!
Collecting children’s picture books – especially folk and fairy tales.
Reading – Children’s books, Young Adult fiction, Art related books and Sci-Fi / Fantasy.
Walking/hiking with my husband, Chris.

Arte – Pintura y dibujo. El medio que más uso es la acuarela con pluma y tinta y/o lápiz de color, pero también me encanta probar otros medios. ¡Experimentar con el arte puede ser divertido!
Coleccionar libros ilustrados para niños, especialmente cuentos populares y de hadas.
Lectura: libros infantiles, ficción para adultos jóvenes, libros relacionados con el arte y ciencia ficción/fantasía.
Caminar/senderismo con mi esposo, Chris.
