Students have been busy painting their primary and secondary colors.  They first painted lines we learned then filled the spaces between the lines with yellow, red or blue.  They also mixed and painted their secondary colors, orange, green and violet, in a shape they traced on their art.  

Students have also been working on an Art Integration project combining social studies and art.  They learned about the Native American Indians and created a printed textured corn collage.  They also created a paper version of a Native American Bison Hide.  Students crumpled their paper to resemble the buffalo hide.  They drew the buffalo hide shape and tore the edges to create the drawn shape, then drew and painted Native American Indian symbols on their “bison hide”.  

When we return in January, the kindergarten students will learn a little more about our very first artists through Prehistoric Cave art and create a representation of rock art.

Los estudiantes han estado ocupados pintando sus colores primarios y secundarios. Primero pintaron líneas que aprendimos y luego llenaron los espacios entre las líneas con amarillo, rojo o azul. También mezclaron y pintaron sus colores secundarios, naranja, verde y violeta, en una forma que trazaron en su arte.

Los estudiantes también han estado trabajando en un proyecto de Integración de Arte que combina estudios sociales y arte. Aprendieron sobre los indios nativos americanos y crearon un collage de maíz texturizado impreso. También crearon una versión en papel de una piel de bisonte nativo americano. Los estudiantes arrugaron su papel para que pareciera la piel de búfalo. Dibujaron la forma de la piel de búfalo y rasgaron los bordes para crear la forma dibujada, luego dibujaron y pintaron símbolos de los indios nativos americanos en su “piel de bisonte”.

Cuando regresemos en enero, los estudiantes de jardín de infantes aprenderán un poco más sobre nuestros primeros artistas a través del arte rupestre prehistórico y crearán una representación del arte rupestre.
