2019-2020 will be my fourteenth year at Hopewell Middle School. I spent almost 25 years serving in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman (Medic). I plan to use those experiences and my knowledge of science and medicine (licensed X-ray Technician) to make my science class more enjoyable. I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Applied Arts and Sciences and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. I've learned that I am educated every day from my students. It is my goal in science to reach each student by tapping into their curiosity.
Classroom Purpose: To develop an understanding of the relationships between living organisms and their environments (Life Science).
My class will share the mission present in other science classes and that is to reach each student by tapping into their curiosity. By allowing them to inquire, experiment, observe, question, and research. I also hope science becomes a "fun" thing for them. I want the students to always see the relevance of science in their lives.
