IB Economics

The purpose of the IB Economics course is to construct a wide-ranging platform upon which the discipline of economics is built. IB Economics is a yearlong course that will examine the theories, concepts, and issues related to microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, and the developing world. Students will not only gain understanding of a large body of economic knowledge, but the course also seeks to enhance their critical thinking skills, especially in the areas of assessment, analysis, and evaluation. The course curriculum will prepare students for the following exams:

  • AP Macroeconomics

  • AP Microeconomics (with supplementary reviews)

  • IB Standard Level Economics.
