Visual Arts 3.2, AS91449 v1 Use drawing to demonstrate understanding of conventions appropriate to sculpture

4 Credits

This achievement standard involves:

Selecting and using sculptural drawing processes, procedures, materials, techniques, and conventions with knowledge of their particular characteristics to achieve a particular outcome. Drawing refers to the use of media, techniques and processes to arrange elements (eg line, shape, space, colour, tone, point, texture, form, mass) and principles (eg balance, harmony, rhythm, tension, contrast) to inform artwork. Sculpture drawing may include drawing in two-dimensions, three-dimensions, four dimensions, sketches, drawing notes, worksheets, plans, models, maquettes, photocollage, and sculptures. This drawing will be informed by the study of artists from AS91444.

(This assessment will be completed and presented in the student’s workbook).

The two internally assessed standards will submitted as one assignment from which includes evidence of both standards.

The two internally assessed standards will be marked and moderated at school.

Resubmission opportunities will be provided at the discretion of the teacher and only in instances where minor adjustments are required to meet the standard or raise the level of achievement.

Externally assessed achievement standard

Visual Arts 3.4, AS91459v1 Produce a systematic body of work that integrates conventions and regenerates ideas within sculpture practice.

14 Credits

This achievement standard involves:

Producing a systematic body of work that integrates conventions and regenerates ideas by bringing conventions together to revisit ideas from the student’s previous work in order to re-form and extend ideas into new work. This involves producing related works that form a series or sequence to show generation and development within the art making process through the editing, selection, and ordering of work. Showing understanding of conventions within sculpture through the appropriate use of characteristics and constraints applicable and fitting to the field.

(Students will present 3x A1 panels of works for assessment).

As this is an externally assessed standard there is no possible resubmission opportunity.
