Welcome back to the library for the 2016-17 School Year! You'll find a number of different and new things in the library now, and as we make our way through the fall.

Those empty shelves in the project area are about to be filled with new items for our makerspace, purchased with grant funds from DonorsChoose.org and School Library Media Specialists of Southeastern New York. Whether you're interested in creative coloring, helping to solve our poster-sized crossword and word search, using the construction toys, or you need the green screen or stop-motion equipment for a project you're working on, we'll have something there for you to explore.

Speaking of the makerspace, we're going to hold a contest to give it a new name. What do you think of 'Innovation Station'? How about 'STEAM Corner'? Do you have your own ideas? Are there things you'd like to see us purchase for the space? Let us know at the circulation desk, or email me at tthibault-edmonds@rondout.k12.ny.us

If you're looking to visit the library during study hall or lunch, we have a new system since we are no longer using passes in the school. When you need to use the library, ask your study hall teacher to call us to make sure we have room and availability. If you're thinking you'd like to visit during a lunch period, stop in that morning and sign up with us during the activity period. There are times when we need to close the library for testing, special programs, or classwork, so make sure we will be open when you'd like to come down.

See you soon!
