Dear Parents or Guardians,
Currently, Springfield Public Schools fully intends to open this Fall. As we plan for Back-to-School, student and staff safety is of the utmost important. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020-2021 school year will be very different from anything before. To help prevent the spread of the virus, social distancing measures must be implemented.
To achieve this, students will experience school both in-person and remotely. For example, a student will attend school in-person for a week. The following week, that student will be given assignments to work on remotely from home. This weekly rotation will begin immediately when school year starts and continue until further notice, with a goal and hope of resuming a fully in-person school schedule for students as soon as heath authorities say it is safe to do so.
In addition to social distancing in the schools, social distancing measures will also be implemented for students riding a bus to school.
By answering these survey questions, you will help us best prepare to meet the needs of students in the 2020-2021 school year as we consider health and safety logistics and resources for school buildings and transportation practices.
Please complete a separate survey FOR EACH OF YOUR CHILDREN currently enrolled in the Springfield Public Schools or planning to enroll for the 2020-2021 school year.
