SEPTEMBER 22, 2020 - UPDATE - SENIOR NIGHT FINAL INFORMATIONTo the Marching Lion Parents/Guardians & Senior Students: Senior Night Information - Friday, September 25, 2020. Senior Night is a separate event being held prior to the first home football game. Your child has indicated your participation and provided your email for communication regarding Senior Night. During Senior Night, your child's name along with the names they have provided will be introduced and walk across Horn Field. There will be no spectators in the stands. Timeline for the event is currently as follows:· 4:00PM - Meet in SHS Lobby - you will be met by a representative from our Band Parents Club - (pictures will be taken of you and your child in the lobby). Masks will be required inside the building (but not for pictures).· 4:30PM - Senior Night Students Announced at Horn Field- (Football, followed by Cheerleaders, followed by Band members)After all band students/parents/guardians are announced, the stadium is to be cleared except for Marching Lions students.· 5:15PM - Marching Lions perform their field show (there will be no spectators in the stands). We should be finished by 5:30PM and students will be free to leave for the evening. NEW ITEM – Senior Posters (optional): This year, since the band will not be in attendance at home football games, I would still like seniors to make posters if they wish. My plan is to hang them on the band room hall wall and leave them there for the season. Making a senior poster is NOT mandatory. Football and Cheerleading seniors will have a poster in the stadium for the senior night game, but will be required to take it down immediately following the game. Since we will not be there for the end of the game, my plan is to take a Friday Night when the team is away when we make a Cavalcade recording and hang the posters at Horn Field when we have an audience of band parents. This way seniors can take a picture at Horn Field with their poster. If you have any further questions regarding Senior Night, please do not hesitate to contact me.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SEPTEMBER 14, 2020 - UPDATEFor the band, I have finalized a plan to allow parents, guardians, friends, or relatives to attend the competitive show recordings on Friday nights when the team is at away games beginning on Friday, September 18th. This will be at no cost to parents.
The dates are as follows:· Friday, September 18, 2020 (Parent Preview 7:50PM & Virtual Competition Recording 8:20PM)· Friday, October 2, 2020 (Virtual Competition Recording 8:15PM)· Friday, October 16, 2020 (Virtual Competition Recording 8:15PM)· Friday, October 30, 2020 (Virtual Competition Recording 8:15PM)
There will be a total of 153 tickets available for the first Friday night on September 18th. The process to receive a ticket will follow the same procedure as varsity football. Starting with seniors, then juniors, then sophomores, then freshmen, then 8th graders. When finished with all students, I will return to the senior class to hand out a second ticket following the same procedure. If tickets still remain, another round will be started for a third ticket. ALL STUDENTS ARE GUARANTEED AT LEAST ONE (1) TICKET and MOST LIKELY TWO (2) PER EVENING.
All spectators in attendance will need a ticket to attend.
Tickets will be handed out to students on Thursday night of band rehearsal prior to each Friday event. The entrance gate will be the “main gate” which is the one directly across from the high school. All other gates will remain locked. Spectator tickets will be collected at the gate closest to the visitor concession stand before entering Horn Field. The 250-person count will include, band members, band staff, and spectators.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
