About Mrs. Oderman

Hello, my name is Shandel Oderman (pronounced SHAN-duhl OH-der-men). This is my 15th year teaching, and my 10th year in Ridgefield. I have taught kindergarten, first, and second grade. I was born and raised in Olympia. I have my Bachelors in Psychology with a focus on child development from Western Washington University. I completed my K-8 teaching credential at University of Washington, and my Masters degree in Reading and Literacy. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher. I began my teaching career in the Franklin Pierce School District in Tacoma, Washington. For the following three years I taught first grade in East Palo Alto, California. I love being back home in the Northwest with my husband, 6 year-old son Ethan,  3 year old daughter Ivy, and our tabby cat, Thomas. For fun, I enjoy going on long walks with an iced coffee, scrapbooking, and reading. I'm looking forward to a wonderful school year together!
