The Christmas celebration in Sweden begins on December 13th which is called St. Lucy's Day. On this day, Swedish people remember a girl named St. Lucia who wore a crown of candles on her head and secretly brought food to Christians in Rome a long time ago.

During the month of December, many families have straw goats in their houses to remind them that Jesus was born in a manger.

Since 1959, on Christmas Eve, 40% of people living in Sweden stop to watch the special TV show called "From All of Us, to All of You".
This show stars Donald Duck.

It is believed that on Christmas Eve a little gnome brings gifts. Children leave a bowl of porridge out for him.
