At Richland Elementary School, we challenge our students to develop higher-level reading skills. This creates a need for challenging, entertaining and thought-provoking books for all ages and grade levels. Click on the links below to see a variety of recommended reading lists. Please remember that reading levels are NOT the most important part of reading. The most important thing to teach our children about reading is that it is fun! You may find that your child is reading above or below their current grade level. There are benefits to reading across ALL levels. Reading below grade level builds comprehension, fluency and confidence. Reading slightly above grade level builds vocabulary and can help build reading stamina. Read WITH your child, read TO your child, listen to your child read TO you. Choose a book from the lists below and encourage your child to read, read and read some more!
