Cyber Education
It is recommended that students refrain from using technology after 9:00 p.m. at night to ensure a good night's sleep! Difficulties often arise when students do not have a technology curfew because middle school students are often tempted to chat, text, and watch videos after hours on their smart phones, tablets, laptops, and other devices.
Be sure to talk to your middle schooler about being online, discuss guidelines, and expectations. Consider a parent-teen agreement when it comes to devices. Parents...start these conversations today. Talk to your student(s) about internet safety, your concerns, your expectations, their limitations. Ask/tell them to share their passwords with you, check the apps on their phone (many out there are deceiving), check their photos, read their texts. This is not to invade their privacy but it is to help protect.
