*Emergency General Assistance provides benefits to families with children in some situations when the family is threatened by destitution or homelessness due to an emergency situation. These situations include fire, other natural disasters, termination of utility service, evictions, or lack of adequate shelter. Only certain items can be purchased.
Non- Emergency Temporary assistance with fuel, utilities, food , housing, non-elective medical necessities, and basic services essential to maintain a household.
Applicants for both Non-Emergency and Emergency General Assistance requests should bring all available documentation of income and expenditures to their local town office. The town administrator will need the information on this form to determine available funds quickly. These are not guaranteed funds but really are meant to help those who need it. Contact Holly Haggan Austin or Lindsey Savage to request a Weekend Backpack (food sent home discreetly on Fridays
to ensure students are well fed over the weekend and can come in Monday mornings, ready to learn.
